MAEDA KAMARI 前田 鎌利
Calligrapher / Artist
He studied under calligrapher Choun Sugimoto from the age of 5, and graduated from the special teacher training course of Tokyo Gakugei University’s education department.
After graduating from Tokyo Gakugei University’s special teacher training course in the calligraphy department, he became an independent calligrapher.
In 2014, he founded the general incorporated association Tsugumi-TUGUMI, which operates calligraphy schools throughout Japan.
(By 2025, 700 students will be enrolled at six locations nationwide).
He has held solo exhibitions and live performances in Japan and abroad, and has made numerous media appearances.
He is highly acclaimed as a calligrapher who conveys his thoughts and feelings.
He has published many books, including “Calligraphy as a Cultivated Art” (Jiyuukokuminsha) (2024).
He has published many books, including “Calligraphy as Culture” (Jiyuukokuminsha, Inc., 2024: 16 books, 480,000 copies sold), and is active as a business manager and author.
